The boat tour starts with traversing one of the locks. After that, we will sail to the sea lock that is under construction, looking at the construction work being done. The next stop is past the Noordersluis (North lock) and part of the spillway, where the fresh/salt water barrier is being built.
The tour continues past the backup gate of the Noordersluis, past the new sea lock, back through the Middensluis (Middle lock) and ends at our berth.
The captain or host will provide you with interesting information during the tour.
The lock route is a special tour with a duration of 1.5 to 2 hours, which we offer several times a year. For 2020 we have planned lock routes for July 2, July 18, July 25, August 8, August 18, and August 22. More dates are likely to be added in the course of the season.
Due to the Corona virus, for the time being the maximum number of passengers per trip is set at 40 persons.
You can also find the available dates in the booking calendar, where you can book and pay your tickets. The price is € 19.50 p/p.
Our boat is tied up at the ‘Dankzij Terminal’ on the Sluisplein, on the so-called ‘Kop van de haven’ (Head of the port) in IJmuiden. The berth is clearly recognisable from the information sign with our logo. Our Directions page has extensive information on how you can find us.
