An extensive tour
Our ‘Port & North Sea’ boat tour is an educational and adventurous boat tour of the ports of IJmuiden and — weather permitting — along the North Sea coast. The tour takes us past the fish market, rescue boats, fishing boats, the German WWII U-boat bunker and the nautical control tower.
The tour continues past Forteiland, the IJmuiden locks, Hoogovens and the piers, and finally reaching the great North Sea. If the weather is favourable, we will even sail onto the North Sea, in the direction of Zandvoort or Wijk aan Zee. During the tour, the skipper will explain what happens in the ports. The tour takes about one hour. When you return, everyone is presented with a certificate on behalf of Neptune.
Practical information
From March to October we offer daily one-hour boat tours, which leave at 14.00 and 16.05 hours.
Due to the Corona virus, for the time being, a maximum of 60 passengers per trip has been set.
Tickets are € 12,50 per person, but children up to 5 years old are free of charge (except for groups of children).
The boat departs and arrives at the berth at the “Dankzij Terminal” at the Sluisplein. This is located at the Sluisplein or the so-called “Kop van de haven” (Head of the port). The berth is near the fisherman’s monument (the man with the lantern). You can find a map on the contact page.
On board we sell fresh coffee and tea, soft drinks, wine, beer and spirits. All kinds of small snacks are also available, such as various types of biscuits, nuts, chips and the like.
On order we can provide assorted pastries, cakes, various lunches, hot and/or cold snacks, and so on.
You can find more information on the Catering page.
FYI: non-booked trips can be cancelled due to various reasons. If a trip is available in the booking calendar, the trip can be booked. In case a booked trip is cancelled, all clients will be contacted, and will be eligible for a refund or change to another date.
