Bout tour IJmuiden (OLD)

 14,50 p.p.

Our ‘Port & North Sea’ boat tour is an educational and adventurous boat tour of the ports of IJmuiden and — weather permitting — along the North Sea coast. The tour takes us past the fish market, rescue boats, fishing boats, the German WWII U-boat bunker and the nautical control tower.

An adventurous tour to the ports and the North Sea
The tour continues past Forteiland, the IJmuiden locks, Hoogovens and the piers, and finally reaching the great North Sea. If the weather is favourable, we will even sail onto the North Sea, in the direction of Zandvoort or Wijk aan Zee. During the tour, the skipper will explain what happens in the ports. The tour takes about one hour. When you return, everyone is presented with a certificate on behalf of Neptune.

Description

From March to October we offer daily one-hour boat tours, which leave at 14.00 and 16.05 hours.

Due to the Corona virus, for the time being, a maximum of 60 passengers per trip has been set.

Tickets are € 12,50 per person, but children up to 5 years old are free of charge (except for groups of children).

The boat departs and arrives at the berth at the “Dankzij Terminal” at the Sluisplein. This is located at the Sluisplein or the so-called “Kop van de haven” (Head of the port). The berth is near the fisherman’s monument (the man with the lantern). You can find a map on the contact page.

Mini tours
On our sister site www.watertaxi-ijmuiden.nl we also offer mini tours. During a mini tour we cruise through the port area passing the three watertaxi stops “Sluisplein”, “Noordpier” and “Zeesluis”. You can board at a stop of your choice and you will also return to the stop of departure.

A mini tour is shorter than a regular cruise, the route is more limited and the captain gives no explanation of what can be seen along the way. Nevertheless, it is a fun and affordable introduction to the port area, and ideal for getting a breath of fresh air and enjoying what’s going on around you.

The rate is € 7 per person aged 6 years and over.

How many people fit on the boat?

Our boat can accommodate up to 100 passengers.

Where do the boat tours depart and arrive?

Our departure and arrival point is located in the port of IJmuiden, near the ‘Dankzij Terminal’. It is located on the head of the port, on the Sluisplein. Directions can be found on the contact page.

Could I become seasick?

Can I work for you?

Could I become seasick?

Although we are the only boat tour company in the Netherlands that sails on the North Sea, we only do so when weather permits. We cannot guarantee that you will not become seasick, but it is very rare. If you are particularly prone to seasickness, it might be advisable to take medication before departure. But again, the chance of seasickness is really very low.

Is it possible that a booked trip will be cancelled?

Yes, unfortunately it is possible that you have made a reservation and paid for the tickets, but we have to decide to cancel the trip. There can be different reasons for this. We will let you know as soon as possible and will of course refund the reservation fee you paid. To put it in official terms:

‘IJmuidense Rondvaart Maatschappij BV reserves the right to cancel a trip when there are insufficient bookings (less than the minimum number listed for the trip, or less than 20) a week before departure, or because of unforeseen circumstances. In the case of cancellation by IJmuidense Rondvaart Maatschappij BV, we have no further obligations beyond refunding the paid ticket and booking fees. These are refunded as soon as possible.’
